DVAMon V0.1.1b1 - 2010/12/05 Monitors the 2nd COM port associated with the DV Adapter and displays received MYCALL, URCALL, RPT1, RPT2, Note, text message and GPS position reports. The same data will also be logged to a file (dvalog.txt in the dvamon directory by default). Changes in version 0.1.1b1: 1. Windows GUI based - no command line required, but the command line options will still work. 2. Serial port selection from an option in the File menu. 3. Change the log and error file name from options in the file menu. 4. Add detailed debug information to the error log file by selecting the "Debug" option in the file menu (shows checkmark when active). 5. Position Reports show in BLUE TEXT and are LINKS - Clicking on the text should show the station position on Google Maps in your web browser. Installation: 1. Unzip the file dvamon-0.1.1b1.zip to your hard drive: (C:\ or C:\Program Files is fine). It will create a new folder 'dvamon'. Unzipping the new version over an older one should be OK 0 if you have problems, delete the entire folder and unzip it again to a new folder. Launching the utility: 1. The easiest way to use the utility is to add a shortcut to your start menu to the file dvamon.exe. Drag the file "Shortcut to dvamon.exe" from dvamon folder created during installation. After that, simply use: Start->All Programs->Your_Group->shortcut to dvamon.exe 2. Alternately, you can navigate to the install folder with Windows Explorer and double-click on the file "dvamon.exe" to launch the program. 3. Alternately, you can launch it in a command window just like the 0.1.1ax versions. In fact, it you created a batch file it should still work. NOTE: This executable was compiled on WindowsXP using python2.7 - it should also run with Windows Vista and Windows 7. That's it! Please send bug reports to: n0so@att.net Enjoy! Mike, N0SO
